The Effect of Isoproterenol Nebulizer with IPPB on Pulmonary Function in Bronchial Asthma

Abstract
Six patients with bronchial asthma had their forced vital capacity (FVC), forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1), maximal breathing capacity (MBC), peak flow rate (PFR) and tidal volume (TV) measured before and ten minutes after an inhalation of isoproterenol (1: 400, 3ml) in nebulizer with IPPB. There was a rise significantly in FVC, FEV, MBC and PFR, but a little in TV. Authors had.. considered isoproterenol nebulizer with IPPB is more effective for treatment of bronchial asthma than aminophylline intravenous injection or isoproterenol aerosol.
